"My wife and I recently purchased a new home and have been shopping for home insurance. Our mortgage company recommended going through State Farm, and rather than calling the 1-800 number, we decided to work with a local agent near our new home. We sent all of our documents on April 28, and after three days with no response, we followed up with several phone calls that went unanswered. Today, we finally spoke with someone named Sharon, who told us she had just opened our email. It's very disappointing to hear this, especially after several days of waiting without any acknowledgment. During our conversation, she gave multiple excuses—claiming the home is too old and may not meet State Farm’s policy guidelines. However, we contacted another State Farm agent who responded quickly and professionally, with none of the delays or poor communication we experienced here. We understand that some homes may require more review, but poor communication and lack of follow-up are unacceptable. Please don’t offer excuses for what appears to be a lack of urgency and accountability. Sharon’s handling of our case has unfortunately made us think poorly of State Farm as a whole. We were planning to bundle our home and auto policies with State Farm if we received a good offer, but due to this experience, we are now reconsidering our options and may take all of our insurance needs elsewhere. Now my wife got email really quickly right after conversation that said your husband is so rude. I would be rude rather than being lazy"
